General Classment

ATTENTION, VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
On the basis of some recent operative surveys performed on the weightshifters competition course, the Local Organizing Committee has come to the conclusion that some modifications are mandatory to make it more adequate. In particular, it has been considered to remove the half-way crossing of the competitors, a phase where the mutual visibility could not be warranted.
Therefore, an alternative task has been designed: a chase on an elliptical course (in this case delimited by two inflatable pylons) with the two trikes flying on opposite sides. To avoid the possible discriminating effect of the wind on the course, each "match" will be based on two subsequent runs where the pilots will swap their take-off site.
This task is currently beeing discussed with the Microlight Commission of the FAI (Commission Internationale Micro Aviation). If, as we really hope, the Test Event organized with this aim will confirm the effectiveness of this task, it will be the official proposal of the WAG Local Organizing Committee for the official competition of June 2009.
We are not therefore able to state that the coming "Test Event" in Torino will necessarily be considered an international qualifying competition for the WAG.
Nevertheless, we think that this might be a possible and reasonable solution, since beeing this the first qualifier, the following sessions in other countries could adopt the same task design, thus making the resullts comparable. In any case, this will be considered to select the italian team that will be invited to the WAG.
ATTENTION: the microlight competition will follow the attached new regulations; for the general part, reference is still the FAI Sporting Code, Section 10, Microlight and Paramotors.
